Drywall Installation for New Homes

Don't Ruin Your Build at the Finish Line

You spent months picking out the perfect lot and the right floor plan for your new build in Western Mass. It is a massive investment. Don't let a sub-par drywall crew ruin the final look of your home. Most builders hire the cheapest hangers they can find to stay on schedule. This usually leads to nail pops and wavy walls that show up six months after you move in. Drywall covers so much of your home that a bad finishing job could be an eyesore throughout your home. Take your time to interview drywall contractors and hire one that has a reputation of doing only quality work. Drywall is not the place to cut corners.

Why the Hanging Phase Matters

Hanging sheetrock in a new home is more than just a race to the finish. It's about understanding how a new structure will settle over its first year. We use the required screw pattern of one at each edge and 3 screws in the middle spaced equally 12-16" apart. and high-quality adhesives in high stress areas to ensure your ceilings don't crack when the New England winter kicks in.

If the hangers rush the quality usually suffers. Electrical boxes may not get cut out and buried. They may leave gaps at the corners or force sheets into place. This creates tension. That tension eventually turns into a crack in your finished walls or a bump in your hallway. We take the time to fit every sheet correctly so it stays looking good for decades.

Finishing for Modern Lighting

Modern homes in the Pioneer Valley often feature open floor plans and large windows. This looks great until the sun hits a poorly finished wall. Harsh natural light is a drywaller's worst critic (it exposes every imperfection and every sanding mark).

We offer high quality finishing that will leave your walls and ceilings ready for any paint color or sheen. We don't just mud the joints and leave. We skim coat areas that need it and sand using very fine 220-240 grit sandpaper until the surface is ready for a primer. We use a power sander with a HEPA vacuumed attached so there is no cloud of dust getting into your duckwork.

One Team for the Whole Surface

The biggest headache in new construction is the gap between the drywaller and the painter. When a wall looks bad, the painter blames the hanger and the hanger blames the finisher. It's a cycle of finger-pointing that doesn't solve the problem.

At MrWalls, we handle the entire process from the supplying the sheetrock and hanging the first sheet of rock to the final coat of joint compound and sanding. We own the quality of the surface. If you want your new custom home to look like the architect intended, give us a call. We'll get it done right the first time. (413)302-0640
